Co Wheels to Launch First Shared Cars in Exeter from £7.50 an Hour

Co Wheels, the UK’s highest-rated community car club, is coming to Exeter this March with the launch of its first five vehicles, giving residents and businesses access to flexible, affordable and sustainable transport.
The new vehicles will be located at key points across the city, allowing more people to benefit from car club access without the cost and responsibility of owning a car. Members can book vehicles by the hour or day using the Co Wheels app. Pricing starts from £7.50 per hour or £50 per day, providing a convenient and cost-effective option for occasional trips such as shopping, visiting friends and family, or day trips.

Car clubs like Co Wheels help reduce congestion, free up valuable parking space and lower emissions by enabling more people to share fewer vehicles. Research shows that each car club vehicle can replace up to 20 privately owned cars, encouraging residents to walk, cycle and use public transport for everyday journeys.

The expansion supports Devon County Council’s ambitions to reduce traffic and improve air quality while providing flexible mobility options for local communities.

The new vehicles will be available to book from mid-March and will serve neighbourhoods across Exeter, providing a practical option for occasional trips, shopping journeys, or visiting friends and family.
Co Wheels plans to expand the Exeter network in the future, with additional vehicles expected to be introduced as membership grows and demand increases.
