Co Wheels launch Car Club in Brighton and Hove, Bringing Convenient, Eco-Friendly Car Sharing to the City
November 8th, 2024
Co Wheels, one of the UK’s leading car-club providers, is excited to announce the launch of its service in Brighton & Hove. Bringing six hybrid MG3s to residents and businesses across the city, Brighton locals now have access to Co Wheels' convenient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly vehicles.
The launch of Co Wheels in Brighton & Hove offers a practical solution to urban mobility challenges, enabling residents to access vehicles on an hourly or daily basis. This flexibility supports a growing trend among individuals and companies who want to reduce their carbon footprint and traffic congestion without the commitment and expense of personal car ownership.
“As we launch Co Wheels in Brighton, we’re proud to help make sustainable transportation options more accessible in the city,” said Richard Falconer, Head of Mobility at Co Wheels. “We’re committed to helping residents make greener choices and empowering cities like Brighton to move closer to their carbon reduction targets. With Co Wheels, people can enjoy the convenience of a car when they need it, without the hassle of ownership.”
Recent CoMo UK stats highlight that each car club car is estimated to replace up to 32 privately owned vehicles, helping reduce traffic congestion, free up parking spaces, and improve air quality for the entire community.
“Car share clubs such as Co Wheels, reduce the number of vehicles on the road, contributing to lower carbon emissions and greener, safer cities,” continued Richard. “Car mobility services are perfect for those who do not need regular access to a vehicle or who only need a second vehicle on occasion.”
Co Wheels members in Brighton & Hove will be able to book cars from multiple convenient locations across the city, including key residential areas and central business hubs. Members only pay for the time they use the vehicle, eliminating the costs associated with traditional car ownership such as maintenance, insurance, MOT costs and parking. As a member, you will receive access to community vehicles across the UK, without the hidden costs.
Councillor Trevor Muten, Cabinet member for Transport, Parking and Public Realm said: “I’m delighted to welcome Co Wheels to Brighton & Hove. Car sharing is a brilliant way to give people the convenience of a car while still reducing the number of vehicles on our roads.
“We’re working to give people accessible and sustainable travel options in the city, working towards our Net Zero and air quality goals. Car share clubs like Co Wheels will certainly help us achieve those ambitions.”
To celebrate the launch, Co Wheels is offering a special discount for new members in Brighton. Those signing up within the first month will pay no joining or monthly fees and £30 free driving credit using the promo code BRIGHTON30.
